About the Santa Clara Ballet Association Now celebrating its 43rd Anniversary, the non-profit (501c3) Santa Clara Ballet Association has been primarily funded by annual membership donations and yearly gifts from the City of Santa Clara. In addition, friends of the Ballet volunteer their time and effort for backstage work and fundraising projects. It is the collective commitment of the Directors, dancers, volunteers, and individual and corporate members that enable the Santa Clara Ballet to continue its goal of keeping classical ballet alive in the community in spite of very limited funds. The Santa Clara Ballet actively acknowledges the need for a professional quality ballet company in the Santa Clara Valley as well as the need for opportunities for local dancers seeking careers in ballet.
About the Santa Clara Ballet Company
Starting as a repertory company in 1973, the Santa Clara Ballet Company has since expanded its repertoire with full-length productions such as Sleeping Beauty and The Nutcracker. The Company has a regular season in the area performing at the Santa Clara Convention Center Theatre, and has also completed professional tour engagements throughout the Western United States, British Columbia, and most recently overseas for a special event in Prague, Czechoslovakia.
Vital Contributions to Santa Clara's Cultural Life
The Santa Clara Ballet provides a vital contribution to the cultural programming in the City of Santa Clara, South Bay Area, and the Silicon Valley. Due to our efforts, thousands of people in the local community have experienced live, professional level ballet, presented by a local organization, and staged and performed by local artists as well as featured world-class professional guest artists. Many businesses and organizations recognize the value of the Santa Clara Ballet in their community, and donate funds in an effort to sustain these developments.
Enrichment to our children in Santa Clara and Silicon Valley
Many of the young dancers who performed with Santa Clara Ballet Company as part of their training have received acceptance and scholarship honors from famous dance institutions throughout the country. Some of our dancers have also realized their ultimate goals by pursuing their careers in ballet with major US companies. Young students have been offered free tickets to view our performances - often the first time that they have attended a live arts event of this kind.
You can help the Santa Clara Ballet by sponsoring us, volunteering, attending our shows and telling your friends and colleagues about our wonderful organization. We are grateful to our fans and ballet families and thank you for your ongoing support and encouragement!
As a sponsor, you will receive a membership to the Santa Clara Ballet Association. For the duration of your membership, your name will be published in each production program as a generous supporter of the local arts. Thank you to this year's SPONSORS!
Our Mission To grow interest in classical ballet with high quality performances at reasonable cost; To provide opportunities for local dancers to perform and grow; And to enhance the quality of life in the community through cultural awareness and diversity.
